The PGY1 pharmacy residency program builds on the foundation of the Doctor of Pharmacy education to develop the resident into the clinical pharmacist of tomorrow who is responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions. Following the completion of the residency, residents are well prepared for board certification and/or postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Our program develops the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to pursue rational drug therapy. As a result, residents gain an advanced level of practical training and experience. The core curriculum focuses on enhancing competency in acute and ambulatory patient care, drug information, drug use policy-making, and practice management. A flexible schedule of required core rotations and three elective rotations enhances proficiency to provide expert pharmaceutical care. Core experiences include: Orientation, Pharmacy Administration, Ambulatory Care, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, and Infectious Diseases.
Through the use of evidence-based learning combined with hands-on application, the program fosters the development of the resident’s skills and builds confidence. They are well-trained to effectively participate in therapeutic decision-making and drug therapy monitoring aimed at improving patient care.  Review our residency website at: http://residency.christianacare.org/pharmacy and follow us on Instagram: christianacarerxresidency

ChristianaCare PGY2 Critical Care

ChristianaCare's PGY-2 pharmacy residency in Critical Care equips residents to care for critically ill patients in a variety of sub-specialties as well as shape the future of our profession by serving as mentors and preceptors.

Our program develops the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to pursue rational drug therapy. As a result, residents gain an advanced level of practical training and experience. Residents work alongside preceptors with advanced training in critical care. They experience working across a variety of practice areas, such as the Medical Intensive Care Unit, the Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit, the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, and the Emergency Department.

Through the use of evidence-based learning combined with hands-on application, the program fosters the development of the resident’s skills and builds confidence. They are well-trained to effectively participate in therapeutic decision-making and drug therapy monitoring aimed at improving patient care.
